| 12 | Carolyn Cruso (hammered dulcimer, vocals, guitar),
Kate Price (hammered dulcimer, vocals) Carolyn Cruso For two decades Carolyn Cruso has been making a name for herself as a multi-instrumentalist, writing for and performing on the hammered dulcimer and various flutes. In 2000 she expanded her musical attention to include the genre of singer/songwriting and has been delighting audiences around the nation ever since with her expressive voice, elegant melodies, fine guitar playing and poetic lyrics. As a performer Cruso weaves a web with a myriad of instruments, diverse styles, subtle nuances and vivid images. Seattle’s Victory Music describes her music as "a hypnotic and alluring blend of folk, pop and jazz." This four week Midwest tour finds Cruso celebrating the release of her new songwriter CD, “Have You Ever” (July 09) which people are lauding as “sophisticated, intimate, rich and intelligent”. Visit her web site at: http://www.carolyncruso.com/ Kate Price At the heart of the contemporary Celtic revival dwells soul of Kate Price. A talented multi instrumentalist with a rich and beautiful voice, Kate continues to defy the very genre her early work helped define. Her music is as much a journey for her as for the listener. Her repertoire blends cross cultural influences with her lyrical voice and her dynamic yet intimate sensibility. Noting this, one reviewer summed her up as “one part faery, one part gypsy”, and called her performance style “warm, elegant and intimate”. 7:30 pm with a price of $15 Info/Reservations: Howard Booster, howard_booster@sbcglobal.net |

| 1 | Lisa Ornstein and Andre Marchand, House Concert Sebastopol April 1, Lisa Ornstein and Andre Marchand, House Concert Sebastopol On April 1, we're pleased to welcome back Lisa Ornstein and Andre Marchand. (No fooling!) Lisa is one of the top interpreters of French-Canadian fiddle music in the world today, and Andre is a fine guitarist and singer, a former member of Quebecois supergroup La Bouttine Souriante. They were huge hits last time they played here, and we're really excited to have them again. You can listen to some samples of them playing together here: (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/ornsteinmarchand) (You can also buy their CD there, but I'm sure they'd prefer that you come to the concert and buy it directly from them.) Concert starts at 7:30 and ends around 10:00, out of respect for the fact that they're on weeknights. Admission is $15 per person; 100% of that goes to the artists. There are both cats and stairs here, so if you're allergic to either, this might not be the right venue for you. There will be tea, snacks, and wine; everybody is welcome, but not expected, to bring any of the above along to share. It's an intimate setting, with seating maxing out at 32 people. If you'd like to come, email me and let me know how many of you there will be. We'll collect the money on the night of the concert. I'll email directions en masse in plenty of time before the concert. If you have any questions, let me know. Jon Berger, jberger@sbcglobal.net |
